Pay: $1,958.40/week (plus $2,300 completion bonus per contract, up to $6,900 after three contracts)
Job Description
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Registered Nurse (RN) to join a healthcare facility in San Antonio, TX on a 13-week travel assignment. The RN will provide expert care to critically ill patients with complex and life-threatening conditions. The ideal candidate has strong ICU experience, demonstrates sound critical thinking under pressure, and is committed to delivering high-quality, evidence-based, patient-centered care.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to critically ill patients in the ICU.
- Monitor and manage vital signs, ventilators, infusion pumps, and other life-support equipment.
- Administer prescribed medications, fluids, and treatments accurately and in a timely manner.
- Collaborate closely with physicians, respiratory therapists, and interdisciplinary team members to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Respond rapidly to changes in patient condition and emergency situations such as code responses.
- Educate patients’ families on treatment plans, recovery expectations, and available resources.
- Accurately document assessments, interventions, and outcomes in the medical record.
- Adhere to infection control practices, safety protocols, and evidence-based ICU care standards.
Qualifications
- Current and valid RN license in Texas (or compact eligibility).
- Minimum 1–2 years of recent ICU nursing experience in an acute care setting.
- Current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS); CCRN preferred.
- Strong critical thinking, communication, and clinical assessment skills.
- Compassionate and adaptable approach to caring for critically ill patients.
- COVID-19 vaccine and recent tuberculosis test.
