Shift: 3×12s Nights
Pay: $2,050.20/week (plus $2,500 completion bonus per contract, up to $7,500 after three contracts)
Job Description
We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) Registered Nurse (RN) to join a healthcare facility in Corpus Christi, TX on a 13-week travel assignment. The RN will provide specialized nursing care to critically ill and premature newborns requiring advanced monitoring, life-support measures, and family-centered support. The ideal candidate has strong NICU experience, excellent critical thinking skills, and a commitment to delivering safe, evidence-based neonatal care.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to critically ill and premature infants in the NICU.
- Monitor and manage vital signs, ventilators, infusion pumps, oxygen therapy, and other advanced life-support equipment.
- Administer prescribed medications, fluids, and neonatal treatments accurately and efficiently.
- Collaborate closely with neonatologists, respiratory therapists, and other interdisciplinary team members to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Educate and support parents and families about their newborn’s condition, treatment plans, and discharge preparations.
- Maintain precise documentation of assessments, interventions, and outcomes in the medical record.
- Adhere to infection control standards, safety protocols, and evidence-based NICU nursing practices.
Qualifications
- Current and valid RN license in Texas (or compact eligibility).
- Minimum 1–2 years of recent NICU nursing experience in an acute care setting.
- Current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP); ACLS and PALS preferred.
- Strong clinical assessment, decision-making, and communication skills in high-acuity neonatal care.
- Compassionate and family-centered approach to caring for newborns and their families.
- COVID-19 vaccine and recent tuberculosis test.
