Job Description
We are looking for a skilled Senior Security / Access Control Technician to join our team in the Bay Area. This role involves installing, servicing, and troubleshooting electronic door locking hardware, access control, and intercom systems. CCTV, burglar alarms, and vehicle gates experience is a plus.
Responsibilities
Install, service, and troubleshoot door locking hardware, access control, and intercom systems.
Install panels, devices, cabling, and cable pathways.
Program and maintain access control panels and software.
Service CCTV and video management systems.
Complete daily job reports, timecards, and project documentation.
Work independently and with teams while maintaining a professional image.
Requirements
Authorized to work in the U.S.
Minimum 5 years of experience installing and servicing electronic door hardware (panic bars, CVR, maglocks, mortise, cylindrical, strikes on multiple door types).
Minimum 5 years of experience programming and servicing access control/intercom systems (Doorking, Kantech, Butterfly, Latch, 2N a plus).
Strong knowledge of relays, power supplies, and electrified hardware.
Clean DMV record, able to pass background check and drug test.
Must live within a 20-mile north radius of San Jose, CA (heavy Bay Area travel required; vehicle allowance or company vehicle provided).
High School diploma or GED required.
Consistent work history with solid references.
Able to work M–F, 8 AM – 5 PM onsite (occasional variation in start/end times).
Manufacturer experience a plus: Assa Abloy, LCN, HES, Schlage, Von Duprin, 2GIG, 2N, Ademco, Aiphone, Alarm.com, Axis, Brivo, DSC, Digital WatchDog, DoorKing, Elite, Exacq, HikVision, Honeywell, Isonas, Kantech, Keri, Latch, LiftMaster, Linear, Qolsys, S2, SwiftLane, Vista, and other door hardware manufacturers.
Physical Requirements
Ability to lift up to 60 lbs, pull cable, climb ladders, and work at elevated heights.
Able to see colors, read small print, and recognize tones/signals.
Comfortable working in confined spaces.
English required (Spanish or Mandarin a plus).
Ideal Candidate
Strong knowledge of electronic door hardware, access control, intercoms, and networking.
Experience with burglar alarms, CCTV, and vehicle gates.
Ability to lead projects, train customers, and serve as liaison with client representatives.
Project management and estimating/sales experience a plus (commission available).
