We are currently seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Permanent Controller for our dynamic construction company. This role is integral to the financial health and growth of our business, as it involves overseeing all aspects of financial management, including corporate accounting, regulatory and financial reporting, budget and forecasts preparation, as well as the development of internal control policies and procedures. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction accounting, a strategic mindset, and the ability to lead in a fast-paced environment.

Job Details
Responsibilities:
1. Oversee all financial operations of the company, including the production of periodic financial reports, maintenance of accounting records, and a comprehensive set of controls and budgets designed to mitigate risk.
2. Ensure the accuracy and timeliness of financial statements in accordance with GAAP and applicable federal, state, and local regulatory laws for financial and tax reporting.
3. Develop and manage financial controls in accordance with the company’s procedures.
4. Communicate financial metrics and forecast to senior executives, providing insightful information to aid in long-term and short-term decision making.
5. Lead and support the company's financial planning and budgeting processes.
6. Coordinate and manage the company’s annual audits.
7. Manage and monitor all accounts, ledgers, and reporting systems ensuring compliance with appropriate GAAP standards and regulatory requirements.
8. Develop and mentor accounting staff.
9. Review all month-end closing activities including general ledger accounts, balance sheet accounts, and overhead cost allocation.
10. Enhance and implement financial and accounting systems, processes, tools, and control systems.
11. Serve as a key point of contact for external auditors; manage preparation and support of all external audits.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA required.
2. Minimum of 5 years of experience in a senior-level finance or accounting position, preferably in the construction industry.
3. Proven knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
4. Knowledge of automated financial and accounting reporting systems, as well as federal and state financial regulations.
5. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
6. Experience in a leadership role with proven ability to mentor and develop team members.
7. Ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports, statements, and projections.
8. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex financial information in a clear and concise manner.
9. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions based on accurate and timely analyses.
10. High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation.
