Driver - CDL Class A

CMG/Rockingham Steel’s Richmond, VA, operation is seeking a CDL Class A Driver to join our team! You will be responsible for safely operating a road tractor (day cab) with trailer capacity up to 46,000 pounds.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct pre- and post-trip vehicle mechanical and safety inspections
• Safely load and secure finished goods for delivery using forklifts and other material handling equipment.
• Maneuver trucks into loading or unloading positions
• Manage proof of delivery paperwork from customers.
• Properly track and document activity log according to DOT and company regulations.
• Report any issues or incidents to dispatch
• Typical schedule is Monday-Friday, no nights, no weekends.

Qualifications:

• Valid CDL Class-A license and DOT medical card required with at least 1 year recent driving experience.
• Must be able to pass background checks in order to access military installations
• Respectable MVR
• Extensive knowledge of applicable truck driving rules and regulations
• Ability to handle physical workload
• Adaptability and foresight to handle unexpected situations (traffic, weather conditions etc.)
• Strong work ethic and good communication and customer service skills
• Employment subject to background and drug screening
• Must meet DOT and company requirements & regulations
