OverviewWe are seeking a Critical Systems Technician III – HVAC to lead mission-critical mechanical services and maintenance operations. This role is responsible for ensuring compliance with contractual obligations and providing expert guidance on the installation, service, and operation of data center HVAC systems.
Key Responsibilities· Perform all duties of an HVAC Technician II.
· Independently conduct preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and emergency repairs on HVAC systems including:
· - Air and water-cooled reciprocating chillers
· - Centrifugal and screw package chillers
· - Natural gas boilers and unit heaters
· - Electric duct heaters
· - Cooling towers
· - Pneumatic, DDC, and VFD controls
· - Air distribution systems (AHUs, FCUs, fans)
· - HVAC-related water pumps
· Maintain and upgrade Building Automation Software.
· Mentor and supervise junior technicians.
· Participate in on-call rotations.
· Perform additional duties as assigned.
· Maintain regular and reliable attendance.
QualificationsEducation & Experience
· High School Diploma or GED required
· Completion of basic air conditioning theory coursework
· Proficient with HVAC diagnostic tools and instruments
· Experience with DDC, pneumatic, and VFD controls
· Minimum 7 years of large commercial HVAC service experience (8 years preferred)
· Must pass any required client background checks or training
Technical Skills
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office or equivalent software
Certifications (Preferred)
· EPA Universal Certification
· VA Journeyman HVAC License
· OSHA Certification
· Valid Virginia/Maryland driver’s license
· U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain security clearance
Physical Requirements· Regularly required to sit, stand, and walk
· Moderate noise environment
· Occasionally lift and carry up to 50 lbs
