American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Med/Surg position in Michigan, requiring a minimum of 1 year of experience with travel nursing experience highly preferred.
Details- Hospital Med/Surg unit setting with a focus on a variety of general medical patients
- Includes work in a 10-bed ER Overflow/Observation Unit with a rapid admit and discharge patient flow requiring constant reassessment of discharge readiness
- Nurse-to-patient ratios are 1:5 on days and 1:6 on nights for the Observation Unit; 1:5-6 on nights for other Med/Surg units, with ratios that may flex to 1:8 when paired with an LPN
- Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
- Every other weekend required
- Travelers are first to float to other Med/Surg units
- Block scheduling is not available at this time
- Active Michigan RN license required
- Current BLS certification (AHA) required
- Minimum 1 year of RN experience required
- Travel nursing experience highly preferred; candidates with strong permanent/staff experience may be considered
- Works alongside a multidisciplinary team including RNs, LPNs, and patient care techs
- Must be comfortable working collaboratively with a variety of staff roles including LPNs and techs
- Holiday coverage is required; any time-off requests during holidays must remain flexible to accommodate staffing needs
