Job Description
Position Summary:
The Residential Advisor is responsible for supervising and mentoring students in a residential setting. This role helps guide young adults (ages 16–24) in developing independent living skills, promoting a safe and respectful dorm environment, and supporting students’ personal and professional growth.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervise and monitor student conduct in dormitories and on center grounds
Enforce center rules, policies, and behavior expectations consistently and fairly
Conduct routine dorm inspections and regular student bed checks
Serve as a role model, promoting positive behavior and respectful interactions
Document daily logs, incident reports, and student progress notes
Support student development in areas such as hygiene, responsibility, and social skills
Intervene in crises and respond to emergencies appropriately
Plan and lead dormitory meetings and activities
Communicate regularly with other staff (counselors, instructors, security) to support student success
Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent (required)
1–2 years of experience working with youth (preferred)
Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
Strong communication and conflict-resolution skills
Ability to remain calm and professional in stressful or emergency situations
Valid driver’s license (may be required for student transport)
Must pass background check and drug screening
