Mountain Operations/Snowmaking
Seasonal Position 2025-2026
Timberline Mountain
Mountain operation team members/snowmakers are responsible for the upkeep, maintenance, and snowmaking on the mountain. Team members will run a manual snowmaking system and must be willing to work in all weather conditions. Along with making snow, team members will perform light maintenance and repairs on equipment, remove snow around snowmaking equipment and other areas around the resort as needed.
Team members should have a love for the outdoors, a desire to learn, and a commitment to excellent service. Knowledge of basic machinery, including pumps and compressed air, is a plus. The Timberline Mountain staff works as a team, so you may also assist other departments as needed.
Responsibilities:
- Safety: Maintain all safety barriers, padding, and guards around snowmaking equipment. Working safely in close proximity to heavy equipment, high voltage, and high-water pressure is required. PPE will be provided and required for your safety.
- Operate and maintain equipment: Adjust snow guns, water flow, and air flow to create quality snow. Perform regular maintenance on snowmaking equipment.
- Relocate equipment: Move snow guns and hoses as needed.
Requirements:
- Applicants must be at least 18 years old by 11/1/2025 to apply.
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
- All employees age 18+ will complete a background check upon hire.
- This position requires employees to work outside in all weather conditions.
- Mountain Ops team members must be able to shovel snow and be on their feet for most of their shifts.
- Good communication skills and the ability to accurately follow instructions are required.
Pay Rate:
- $15-20 per hour, depending on experience.
Night shift opportunities are available.
The Mountain Operations/Snowmaking team is looking to hire 20 new employees for the upcoming season.
