Paraeducator 0.9 FTE - Level 3 Functional Skills - Part-time

Position Information:

• 0.9 FTE Paraeducator
• Southwest Middle School
  The Level 3 Special Education Paraeducator in a Functional Skills Classroom provides intensive and individualized support to middle school students with significant cognitive and/or physical disabilities. This role focuses on supporting the classroom teacher with highly specialized instruction in academics, communication, daily living skills, and vocational readiness within a self-contained classroom setting. The ideal candidate has a passion for helping students and learning themselves.  

Rate of Pay:

• $16.12/hour-$21.52/hour (Based on candidate’s experience)

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Must pass local Academic Proficiency Exam or have taken at least 60 hours semester credits at post-secondary level
• Preferred experience working with children of differing abilities
• Preferred experience working with individuals with emotional, behavioral learning challenges, learning differences, and functional skills needs.
• Must possess good organizational skills
• Ability to work in a team approach
• CPR and First Aid training / certification preferred
• Hired Based on Pre-employment physical
