Job Description
Join a leading ethanol production facility as a Lab Manager, responsible for overseeing all quality control, fermentation testing, and analytical lab operations. In this key leadership role, you’ll ensure accurate testing, regulatory compliance, and consistent product quality. The Lab Manager will supervise a Lab Technician, manage lab equipment and chemical inventory, and collaborate closely with production, environmental, and maintenance teams to improve fermentation yield, process reliability, and overall plant performance.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead daily ethanol lab operations, including quality control testing and calibration programs
• Maintain and troubleshoot lab equipment, manage vendors, and oversee lab inventory
• Conduct and verify fermentation testing, VOC monitoring, and COA accuracy
• Train and develop lab and production team members on QC procedures and testing standards
• Partner with production leadership to enhance process optimization and product consistency
• Ensure all testing, safety, and environmental standards meet regulatory requirements
• Maintain and troubleshoot lab equipment, manage vendors, and oversee lab inventory

Qualifications and Requirements
• High school diploma required; Bachelor’s in Biochemistry, Engineering, or related field preferred
• Minimum 3 years of ethanol, biofuels, or fermentation lab experience
• Strong technical understanding of fermentation chemistry, analytical testing, and quality systems
• Proven leadership and team development experience
• Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel with strong organizational and communication skills

The base salary range for this position is $90,000–$100,000, excluding benefits, bonuses, or other compensation. Your final salary will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, location, and internal pay equity. Please note, hiring at the top of the range is uncommon to allow room for future salary growth.
