CNC Swiss Setup / Lead

Job Summary

This role is responsible for the operation, programming, and setup of CNC Swiss Lathe machines, based on customer requirements. It also includes department leadership responsibilities such as training and supervising a small crew of operators, troubleshooting and optimizing processes, and assisting the production manager with job scheduling.

Essential Functions

• Operate and set up CNC Swiss Lathe machines for production
• Troubleshoot and optimize operating methods for efficiency
• Edit and optimize existing programs to improve production
• Document setup changes and processes for repeatability and time savings
• Maintain the departmental job scheduling board
• Perform basic preventative maintenance and maintain a clean work area
• Oversee part quality within the machining cell
• Plan tooling requirements proactively to minimize downtime
• Inspect and deburr parts to meet blueprint specifications using proper measuring instruments
• Take ownership of part quality
• Operate machinery with care to prevent damage
• Follow all safety policies and procedures
• Perform other duties as assigned
