strengthens its team in Athens and seeks a Systems and Security Engineer.

This is an engineering role in an up-and-coming network operator and Telecommunications Service Provider (mobile and fixed), covering technologies such as: Virtualization, Infrastructure planning and deployment, Systems Monitoring and Security, Automation, etc.

The Network and Infrastructure team works in close cooperation with the Mobile Services team and is responsible for all the IP & Transport Network, Infrastructure (physical and virtual) and supporting services of the MSP/ISP. This role is an opportunity for a passionate Systems Engineer that wants to be part of an exciting project, an MSP/ISP in the making.

Responsibilities

• Design and deploy an infrastructure (physical and virtual) that supports telecommunication services and applications
• Manage suppliers and subcontractors providing related products and services
• Specify and document engineering, operations and change management procedures for the systems and the security framework
• Define and monitor KPIs for systems performance
• Design and implement security policies for systems and applications of mobile services

Necessary Skills

• Excellent knowledge and experience in systems (physical, virtual, public cloud) management and in virtualization platforms / operating systems: Windows Server, Hyper-V, VMWare, Linux
• Deployment/Operational Experience with ISP-related services (RADIUS, LDAP, DNS, DHCP, NTP, TR069/TR369 etc.)
• Knowledge and understanding of systems networking requirements and basic networking principles (VLANs, Link Aggregation, routing protocols such as BGP, etc.)
• Knowledge and experience in managing virtual servers and other computing resources in public cloud environments (Azure & AWS) will be considered a bonus
• Knowledge and experience in the specification and implementation of security measures and operating procedures for the systems and their hosted applications

Requirements

• University Degree or equivalent, in Engineering, Computer Science or similar
• At least 5 years of experience in managing computer systems, servers and virtualization platforms
• Experience in managing large-scale technology projects
• Competent with system monitoring tools (e.g. TICK stack)
• Expertise in resource management in public cloud environment (MS Azure or/and AWS)
• Experience in security technologies such as firewalls/IPS, VPNs, authentication systems etc.
• Bonus points for experience in scripting/programming (e.g. BASH, Python), automation frameworks (e.g. Ansible), DCIM/IPAM (e.g. Netbox), DevOps and CI/CD frameworks
• Fluency in English both oral and written
• Related technology certifications will be considered an asset
