Description\n

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Labor and Delivery position requiring a MA RN license, AWHONN Intermediate certification, and willingness to float within an LDRP model.

  • Work in a Labor and Delivery unit within an LDRP (Labor, Delivery, Recovery, Postpartum) model
  • \n
  • Assigned to a maternity float pool, requiring float coverage between L&D and Postpartum units
  • \n
  • High-volume facility with more than 300 births per month
  • \n
  • Patient population includes antepartum, high-risk antepartum, L&D, mother/baby, and Level I nursery patients
  • \n
  • Uses Epic EMR (preferred experience)
  • \n
  • Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts (18:45-07:15)
  • \n
  • 36 hours per week with every other weekend and holiday required
  • \n
  • Union facility with no special scheduling accommodations; must be able to work all 7 days of the week
  • \n
Requirements\n
    \n
  • Active MA RN license required (conditional/temp license accepted initially, must apply within 48 hours of offer)
  • \n
  • 3 years of L&D experience strongly preferred; will consider 1-2+ years with travel experience
  • \n
  • Required certifications: AWHONN Intermediate or higher, ACLS, BLS, NRP, FHM
  • \n
  • Previous travel nursing experience required
  • \n
  • Epic EMR experience preferred
  • \n
  • Must pass a medication exam and a telemetry exam at orientation, each with only 1 attempt allowed
  • \n
  • Skills required include IV therapy, fetal monitoring (external and internal), labor management, high-risk delivery assistance, and postpartum care
  • \n
  • No prior employment history within the health system within the last 12 months
  • \n
Additional Information\n
    \n
  • Provide comprehensive nursing care across labor, delivery, recovery, and postpartum phases
  • \n
  • Responsibilities include fetal monitoring, medication administration (including Pitocin, Magnesium Sulfate, and Terbutaline), and assisting with vaginal and cesarean deliveries
  • \n
  • Support newborn care including APGAR scoring, thermoregulation, and newborn assessments
  • \n
  • Multiple study materials provided during compliance and orientation to support exam preparation
  • \n
  • Modules must be completed pre-start, during orientation, and annually
  • \n
  • Local candidates accepted at the same bill rate
  • \n
  • Must reside within a 200-mile radius of the facility
  • \n
  • Up to 14 days of RTO can be submitted for review, with no RTO permitted during the first week of assignment
  • \n
  • First-time travelers considered with a 3-shift orientation
  • \n
