DIRECTOR OF NURSING OPERATIONS (RN) – ACUTE CARE HOSPITAL | DETAILS AND COMPENSATION:
- Location: Akron OH 44305 – 100% On-site
- Payrate: $73+/hr – negotiable based on experience
- Required Availability: Full-Time | 730am to 4pm
DIRECTOR OF NURSING OPERATIONS (RN) – ACUTE CARE HOSPITAL | SUMMARY AND HIGHLIGHTS:
The Director of Nursing Operations (RN) will oversee nursing operations and patient logistics in a large acute care hospital setting. This is a high-impact leadership role responsible for managing patient throughput, regional float pool operations, nursing supervision, and companion care services. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker and compassionate leader who drives continuous improvement and fosters a culture of collaboration and clinical excellence.
- This position is a contract assignment with potential to hire on permanently based upon attendance, performance, and business needs
- Benefits are available to full-time employees after 90 days of employment and include health, optical, dental, life, and short-term disability insurance

DIRECTOR OF NURSING OPERATIONS (RN) – ACUTE CARE HOSPITAL | RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manage patient flow and throughput in collaboration with the Regional Call Center and nursing operations teams.
- Oversee general nursing business functions, including scheduling, staffing, acuity, productivity, reporting, payroll, and administration.
- Provide leadership and direction for nursing supervision, companion care, and clinical decision unit teams.
- Lead interdisciplinary initiatives focused on quality, safety, and service excellence.
- Develop and manage departmental budgets, maintaining fiscal responsibility and productivity goals.
- Mentor and support nurse leaders and staff to promote professional growth and team cohesion.
DIRECTOR OF NURSING OPERATIONS (RN) – ACUTE CARE HOSPITAL | REQUIREMENTS:
- Education: BSN and MSN (or Master’s in Business or Healthcare-related field) required | Graduate of an accredited nursing program (CCNE or ACEN).
- Attendance: Commitment to mandatory attendance during the first 90 days.
- Current RN license in the State of Ohio.
- Professional certification preferred or must be obtained within 2 years of hire.
- 5+ years of nursing experience.
- 2+ recent years in a supervisory, management, or logistical coordination role within an acute inpatient hospital setting.
- Proven experience leading diverse nursing teams and managing complex operations.
