Med/Surg RN Job Details

• Location: Pittsfield, Massachusetts (01201) – Berkshires region
• Healthcare Setting: Medical-Surgical Unit (20–34 beds)
• Assignment Length: 13-week travel nursing contract
• Start Date: October 27, 2025
• End Date: January 26, 2026
• Shift: 12-hour night shifts (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $1930 - $2070
• Patient Ratio: 1:6 typical
• Dress Code: Personal scrubs (any color)
• Weekend/Holiday Coverage: Every other weekend and two major holidays required

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active Massachusetts RN license required
• Minimum 2 years of recent Med/Surg nursing experience
• Tele experience required; Basic Dysrhythmia course completion strongly preferred
• Experience with Meditech Expanse preferred
• Current BLS (AHA), ACLS (AHA), and NIHSS certifications required
• Willingness to float to any Med/Surg unit as needed
• Must have own vehicle for transportation
• COVID-19 vaccination (dose date on or after 10/3/23) or approved exemption (mask required)
• Permanent address must be included in application; candidates within 50 miles of facility not eligible
• Work history, current skills checklist (within 1 year), and one supervisory signed reference (from past 2 years) required

Med/Surg RN Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to medical-surgical patients in a dynamic hospital environment
• Monitor, assess, and document patient status and clinical progress
• Administer medications and treatments according to physician orders
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to achieve optimal patient outcomes
• Float to other Med/Surg units as assigned
• Ensure compliance with hospital policies, procedures, and safety standards
• Participate in orientation and ongoing nursing education
• Offer compassionate support to patients and their families
