Job Description
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
ProCare Therapy is working alongside a fantastic school district in Manteno, IL to find a full-time Special Education Teacher for the upcoming 2025-2026 school year. This role is ideal for educators who are passionate about supporting students in a self-contained Life Skills program.
In this position, youll work with elementary students in grades K-4 who require a higher level of academic and functional support. The caseload is intentionally smalltypically between 5 to 7 studentsto ensure personalized, high-quality instruction within a supportive and collaborative school setting.
Position Snapshot:
Full-Time | 35-40 hours per week
Contract Dates: August 18, 2025 June 1, 2026
Serving Grades K-4 in a Life Skills Self-Contained Classroom
Caseload of 5-7 students
Role Highlights:
Provide instruction to students with significant academic and developmental needs
Work alongside a strong special education team and support staff
Benefit from a dedicated staffing coordinator who handles IEP scheduling and documentation
Collaborate regularly with teachers, specialists, and families
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and deliver instruction based on IEP goals
Manage IEP caseloads with support from administrative staff
Track and report on student progress through data collection
Participate in IEP meetings and planning sessions
Foster a nurturing, structured classroom environment focused on life skills development
Required Qualifications:
Active Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with LBS1 Endorsement
Background working with students in self-contained or Life Skills programs preferred
Strong skills in collaboration, communication, and adapting instruction
Experience supporting students with a range of complex needs
