American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for an Acute Telemetry unit in Alexandria, LA, requiring an active LA or compact RN license and AHA-certified BLS and ACLS.

- Acute Telemetry unit in a hospital setting \n
- Patient population includes MI, CHF, arrhythmias, PVD, and med-surg overflow \n
- Cardiac drip management is required; titration is not performed on this unit \n
- Nurse-to-patient ratio is typically 5:1, occasionally 6:1 \n
- Day shift: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM \n
- 3 weekends required per 6-week schedule \n
- Floating to other units is required as needed \n
- No on-call responsibilities \n
- 13-week contract \n

- Active LA or compact RN license required \n
- BLS and ACLS certifications from AHA required and must be current at time of consideration \n
- 1 year of experience in a telemetry or related nursing specialty preferred \n
- BSN preferred \n
- US Social Security Number required for consideration \n
- 2 professional references required for consideration \n

- Provides nursing care using the full nursing process: assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation \n
- Administers medications and treatments per protocol and monitors for side effects and effectiveness \n
- Addresses psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families \n
- Documents patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided \n
- Provides patient and family education, identifies needs, and connects with appropriate resources \n
- All newly hired RNs must attend New Nurses Orientation within the first 30 days \n
- New hires are precepted by a designated trained staff member with competency validation completed at the bedside \n
- Ceil blue scrubs required \n
- Temp-to-perm conversion is a possibility \n
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for the travel pay rate \n
