American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Labor and Delivery position requiring CA RN licensure, intermediate fetal monitoring skills, and at least 3 years of relevant experience.

- Work in the Labor and Delivery unit of a hospital setting \n
- Facility averages 200-300 births per month \n
- Patient population includes antepartum, high-risk antepartum, labor and delivery, and mother/baby cases \n
- Typical patient ratio of 1:2 \n
- Night shift schedule (3x12 hours), 18:45 to 07:15 \n
- Epic EMR experience required \n
- \n
- Active CA RN license required \n
- Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NRP required \n
- AWHONN Beginner and AWHONN Intermediate certifications required; AWHONN Advanced preferred \n
- FHM (Fetal Heart Monitoring) certification required \n
- Intermediate Fetal Monitoring skills required \n
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant nursing experience required \n
- Prior travel nursing experience required \n
- Previous charge nurse experience preferred \n
- Skilled in labor and delivery management including assisting with vaginal and high-risk deliveries, circulating and scrubbing for C-sections, and managing hemorrhage/shock \n
- Experience with fetal monitoring including external and internal fetal monitoring and IUPC placement/calibration \n
- Experience caring for patients with conditions such as pre-eclampsia, placenta previa, preterm labor, and multiple gestation \n
- Experience with medication administration including Pitocin, Magnesium Sulfate, and antihypertensives \n
- 2 supervisor references obtained within the past year required for consideration \n

- Provide comprehensive labor and delivery nursing care including antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum management \n
- Perform fetal monitoring, recognize and treat abnormal fetal heart rate patterns, and assist with high-risk deliveries \n
- Support postpartum recovery including breastfeeding support, fundal checks, and care for patients with postpartum hemorrhage or cesarean section \n
- Assist with surgical procedures such as cervical cerclage, D&C, and tubal ligation \n
- Care for patients undergoing VBAC and trial of labor \n
- Local candidates accepted at local rate within a 50-mile radius \n
- Returning employees must have a 1-year separation before returning as a traveler \n
- Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract, with only 1 holiday request approved per contract \n
- Holiday coverage required for New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day \n
- Must be available for lab work within 3-5 days of contract signing \n
