American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Labor and Delivery position requiring a CA RN license and at least 3 years of experience.

Details\n

• Work in the Labor and Delivery unit of a hospital setting
\n
• Facility manages 200-300 births per month
\n
• Patient population includes antepartum, high-risk antepartum, labor & delivery, and mother/baby care
\n
• Patient ratio of 1:2
\n
• Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours from 18:45 to 7:15
\n
• Uses Epic charting system
\n
• 13-week assignment length
\n

Requirements\n

\n
• Active CA RN license required
\n
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NRP
\n
• Intermediate Fetal Monitoring certification required
\n
• AWHONN Beginner and Intermediate certifications required (AWHONN Advanced preferred)
\n
• Fetal Heart Monitoring (FHM) certification required
\n
• Minimum 3 years of Labor and Delivery experience required
\n
• Prior travel nursing experience required
\n
• Epic charting system experience required
\n
• Charge nurse experience preferred
\n
• Skilled in high-risk delivery assistance, C-section circulation/scrub, forceps/vacuum extraction, and hemorrhage/shock management
\n
• Experience with antepartum procedures including NST, OCT, and sterile vaginal exams
\n
• Experience caring for patients with pre-eclampsia, placenta previa, preterm labor, and other high-risk conditions
\n
• Experience with fetal monitoring including internal/external EFM and IUPC placement
\n
• Two supervisor references obtained within the past year required for consideration
\n
• Copies of all certifications required for consideration
\n

Additional Information\n

\n
• Provide comprehensive labor and delivery nursing care across antepartum, delivery, and postpartum stages
\n
• Administer medications including Pitocin, Magnesium Sulfate, antihypertensives, and insulin drips
\n
• Support high-risk deliveries and manage complications such as postpartum hemorrhage and uterine rupture
\n
• Assist with surgical procedures including C-sections, cervical cerclage, and D&C
\n
• Provide neonatal care in the delivery room including resuscitation and thermoregulation support
\n
• Complete required lab work within 3-5 days of contract signing
\n
• Holiday coverage required with only one holiday RTO request approved per contract
\n
• Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract
\n
• Must reside within a 50-mile radius to be eligible for the local pay rate
\n
• Returning employees must have a one-year separation before returning as a traveler
\n
