American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Telemetry position in an IMC Cardiovascular unit, requiring BLS and ACLS certifications and at least 1 year of relevant nursing experience.
Details- Works in the IMC Cardiovascular unit of an acute care hospital setting
- Patient population consists of cardiac and telemetry patients (not a stepdown unit)
- Nurse-to-patient ratio is 5:1 to 6:1 depending on staffing
- Day shift schedule: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
- Every other weekend required
- No on-call requirements
- 13-week contract with the possibility of temp-to-perm conversion
- Active RN license in Louisiana or a compact state license currently in hand
- Current BLS certification from the AHA required
- Current ACLS certification from the AHA required
- Minimum 1 year of experience in a telemetry or related nursing specialty
- BSN preferred
- US Social Security Number required for consideration
- Provides nursing care utilizing the full nursing process: assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation
- Administers medications and treatments per protocol, monitoring for side effects and effectiveness
- Addresses complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families
- Educates patients, family members, and caregivers; identifies issues and available resources
- All newly hired experienced RNs must attend New Nurses Orientation within the first 30 days
- New hires are precepted by a designated trained staff member with competency validation completed at the bedside
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to qualify for travel rates; local candidates are not accepted on this position
