American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for a Labor and Delivery position requiring a CA RN license and NRP certification for night shift coverage.
Details\n- \n
- Work in the Labor and Delivery unit of a hospital environment \n
- Night shift schedule (3x12 hours), 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM \n
- 13-week assignment length \n
- Care for laboring and postpartum patients, including newborns and delivered mothers \n
- \n
- Active CA RN license required \n
- Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NRP (provider) \n
- AWHONN Advanced certification preferred \n
- Advanced Fetal Monitoring experience required \n
- Minimum 2 years of recent Labor and Delivery experience required \n
- Comfortable providing care to both newborns and postpartum mothers \n
- Skilled in labor and delivery management, including assisting with vaginal deliveries and circulating/recovering C-sections \n
- Experience with fetal monitoring, including use of external fetal heart monitors (EFM) \n
- Experience with medication administration including Pitocin, Magnesium Sulfate, and Terbutaline \n
- Experience with epidural anesthesia and PCA pain management \n
- Skilled in antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum care and procedures \n
- Previous charge nurse experience preferred \n
- 2 supervisor references obtained within the past year required \n

- Provide comprehensive care across antepartum, labor and delivery, and postpartum stages \n
- Perform neonatal care in the delivery room, including APGAR scoring and ID/security banding \n
- Assist with triage of obstetrical patients \n
- Utilize sterile technique for vaginal exams and related procedures \n
- Holiday coverage required for one of the following: New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, or Christmas Day, with only one holiday request approved per contract \n
- Maximum of 7 days RTO per contract \n
- Local candidates accepted at local rate within a 50-mile radius \n
- Returning employees must have a 1-year separation before being eligible to return as a traveler \n
- First-time travelers are not being considered for this role \n
