American Traveler is hiring a Labor and Delivery RN for a 26-week night shift assignment requiring a CA RN license and 1 year of L&D experience.
Details\n- \n
- Hospital-based Labor and Delivery unit caring for high-risk OB patients in a culturally diverse population \n
- 26-week assignment on night shift (3x12 hours, 18:00-06:30) \n
- Average daily census of 15-20 patients with 11-15 rooms/beds \n
- Approximately 20 visits per day \n
- RNs circulate on cesarean sections \n
- Weekend shifts required to meet staffing needs \n
- Floating required to meet facility needs, with travelers given priority to float within their scope \n
- Uses Epic EMR system \n

- Active CA RN license required (must be in hand at submission, pending license not accepted) \n
- Minimum 1 year of Labor and Delivery experience required \n
- Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, AWHONN Intermediate, and NRP \n
- Epic EMR experience required \n
- Experience with IV therapy/phlebotomy, blood and blood product administration, and IV/infusion pump management \n
- Labor and Delivery management skills including amnioinfusion, high-risk and vaginal delivery assistance, and C-section circulation \n
- Experience with Pitocin (oxytocin), Magnesium Sulfate therapy, and other L&D medication administration \n
- Neonatal care skills including APGAR scoring, newborn assessment, and thermoregulation \n
- Postpartum care skills including fundus/lochia/perineum care and wound assessment \n
- Experience with external fetal heart monitoring (EFM) and recognition of abnormal fetal heart rate patterns \n
- Full SSN and DOB required for consideration \n
- Two supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years in a comparable specialty/setting \n

- Provide comprehensive nursing care to laboring, antepartum, and postpartum patients including high-risk OB cases \n
- Assist with vaginal deliveries, C-sections, and high-risk delivery procedures \n
- Support neonatal care in the delivery room including newborn assessment and identification banding \n
- Provide postpartum education and discharge teaching to new parents \n
- Travelers may be required to float between sister facilities near the contracted location \n
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply \n
- Must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day) \n
- RTO requests should be submitted upfront, with no more than 7 days requested \n
- Local candidates accepted within a 50-mile radius at a lower bill rate \n
- Former permanent employees at this health system may return as travelers after a 3-month waiting period, provided they reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility \n
- Candidates must disclose any prior work history at Providence facilities as permanent staff, travel contractor, or per-diem \n
