American Traveler is seeking an experienced NICU RN for a Level II Special Care Nursery position requiring CPAP proficiency and at least one completed travel assignment.

- Level II Special Care Nursery (NICU) in a hospital setting \n
- Focuses on neonates 32 weeks gestation or greater, including pre-term infants requiring cardiopulmonary, neurologic, metabolic, and thermal stabilization \n
- Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM \n
- Every other weekend required \n
- Every other holiday required \n
- Floating required to Postpartum and Labor & Delivery for neonatal care \n
- Equipment used includes ventilation systems for High-Flow O2, CPAP, and Mechanical Ventilation; Point of Care Blood Glucose monitors; and BD Alaris Smart Pumps \n
- \n
- Active Maryland (MD) or Compact RN license currently in hand \n
- Current certifications required: BLS, NRP, and S.T.A.B.L.E. \n
- Minimum 2 years of NICU Level II experience required \n
- CPAP experience required \n
- Must have completed at least one prior travel assignment with no cancellations \n
- Proficiency in respiratory support (High-Flow O2, CPAP, Bubble CPAP, and Mechanical Ventilation) \n
- Proficiency in central line management, peripheral IV insertion, lab draws, and IV antibiotic administration \n
- Knowledge of apnea and bradycardia in pre-term infants \n
- Experience with stabilization of newborns under 32 weeks and preparation for transport to a Level III facility \n
- Experience with thermoregulation in premature and full-term infants, including passive cooling \n
- Must pass the Relias EKG Rhythm Interpretation Exam with a minimum overall score of 80% and 100% on lethal rhythms \n
- 2 professional supervisory references from within the past 2 years required for consideration \n
- Full 7-year work history with all gaps explained required for consideration \n

- Responsibilities include monitoring and maintaining cardiopulmonary, neurologic, metabolic, and thermal stability in neonates, independently or in conjunction with a physician \n
- Assists with specialized procedures including lumbar puncture and endotracheal resuscitation of newborns 32 weeks gestation or greater \n
- Initiates, modifies, or discontinues treatment per established protocols or physician orders \n
- Candidates with a BSN should include this credential in their profile \n
- Local candidates within 60 miles of the facility are accepted for this position \n
