American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a PACU position at a Level I Trauma Center, requiring critical care experience and Epic proficiency.

- Work setting is a Level I Trauma Center within a large acute care hospital (1,266 beds) on the Parkview Tower PACU unit \n
- Surgical patient population includes GU, GYN, colorectal, minimally invasive procedures, bariatric, some ENT, and IR pre/post cases \n
- Patient ratio is 1:2 \n
- Schedule is Monday–Friday, 3x12-hour night shifts with rotating start times (1900–0730 or 1700–0530) \n
- No weekend requirements \n
- On-call is required — 24 hours per 6-week schedule period \n
- Night shift nurses are expected to manage pre-op patients for first cases from 0530–0730 when no PACU patients are present \n
- Floating required within service line to meet facility needs \n
- Block scheduling is not available \n
- EMR is Epic; experience is required \n
- Navy scrubs required \n
- \n
- Active MO RN license or compact license; must be in hand at time of consideration (IL candidates may submit with a pending IL license) \n
- Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, telemetry, and critical care \n
- Proficiency with mechanical ventilation (vents) and IV insertion required \n
- Minimum 1 year of PACU or critical care experience required; Level I Trauma Center experience strongly preferred \n
- Epic EMR experience required \n
- Must pass a Relias EKG exam; interpretation and management of dysrhythmias required \n
- Must reside at least 75 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position \n

- RNs must be proficient in managing complex postoperative patients including multiple drains, vasoactive drips, mechanical ventilation, and recovery from general anesthesia \n
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply \n
- RTO is limited to no more than 7 days per 13-week contract; no RTO is permitted during the first week of orientation \n
- Former permanent employees of any BJC facility must wait 1 year before returning as a traveler \n
- Travelers may remain for up to 18 months before a 3-month break in service is required \n
- Parking passes are available for purchase on a monthly basis; night shift workers may park at no charge in employee parking \n
