Job Description
Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Patient Access Representative to join one of our healthcare clients located in the West Houston area. This is a 13-week contract opportunity offering a hybrid schedule, with four days remote and one day in-office each week. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in billing, claim follow-up, and patient account management within a healthcare setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyze patient accounts and research account history for accuracy.
- Prepare billing for third-party insurance carriers including Medicare, Medicaid, Blue Cross, Champus, HMO, PPO, POS, Workers’ Compensation, and Special Contracts.
- Identify and correct billing errors, adjustments, or credits on accounts.
- Ensure compliance with payer requirements and internal quality standards.
- Communicate effectively with patients, insurance companies, and healthcare staff.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in billing, claim follow-up, or patient access roles.
- High School Diploma or GED required; some college preferred.
- Proficiency with billing systems and claim processing.
- Epic experience is preferred but not required.
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills.
Technical Skills:
- Must Have: Billing, Claim Follow-Up, Patient Account Analysis
- Nice to Have: Epic EMR, Insurance Verification, Data Entry
