Job Description
EmpowerED Care is a trauma-informed, family-centered agency dedicated to strengthening and stabilizing high-risk children and families. Our Early Intervention Speech-Language Therapists play a vital role in helping infants and toddlers develop essential communication skills, ensuring they reach their full potential.
We have multiple locations that we service around New York City; Westchester, Rockland, Orange, Putnam, Nassau, and Suffolk Counties.
We can offer Full-Time / Part-Time / Contract positions. We offer a flexible schedule with remote/hybrid work with travel to patients within your community.
Key Responsibilities:
Assessment & Diagnosis
- Conduct comprehensive evaluations to identify speech, language, and swallowing disorders in infants and toddlers.
- Develop individualized treatment plans based on developmental milestones and family needs.
Therapeutic Intervention
- Provide play-based, structured therapy to enhance communication, articulation, and language development.
- Teach children how to make sounds, improve their voices, and strengthen oral/written language skills.
- Utilize augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) strategies when needed.
Family & Caregiver Support
- Coach parents and caregivers on techniques to reinforce speech and language development at home.
- Provide counseling and education on coping strategies for speech-related challenges.
Collaboration & Advocacy
- Work closely with educators, occupational therapists, psychologists, and social workers to create holistic intervention strategies.
- Advocate for early intervention services and educate families on the importance of early speech therapy.
Documentation & Compliance
- Maintain accurate records of therapy sessions, progress reports, and treatment adjustments.
- Ensure compliance with state and federal early intervention regulations.
Qualifications & Skills
- Education: Master’s Degree in Speech-Language Pathology (SLP)
- Licensing: Valid SLP license & Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from ASHA
- Experience: 1-3 years in early intervention or pediatric speech therapy preferred
- Skills: Strong knowledge of child development, speech disorders, and family-centered care
- Soft Skills: Compassionate, patient, and excellent communication skills
