Job Responsibilities
Facilitate communication between students who are deaf or hard of hearing and their teachers, peers, and other staff using American Sign Language (ASL) and appropriate interpreting methods
Provide interpretation for classroom instruction, discussions, assemblies, and other school functions
Collaborate with educators and support staff to create inclusive learning experiences
Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards of interpreting practice
Participate in IEP meetings and provide feedback on student communication needs and progress

Requirements
Must hold or be eligible for Pennsylvania Educational Interpreter certification or have a qualifying EIPA (Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment) score per state guidelines
Proficiency in ASL and understanding of Deaf culture required
Prior experience interpreting in K12 settings preferred
Strong communication, adaptability, and teamwork skills
