We are looking for a Senior Electrical Controls Engineer to lead the design, programming, and implementation of advanced electrical control systems for automated machinery. This position requires strong expertise in PLC programming, HMI development, servo motion control, and electrical schematic design, along with a hands-on approach to troubleshooting and system integration.


Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop electrical control panels in accordance with UL508A and NEC standards.
  • Specify and integrate sensors, pneumatics, and automation components such as photo sensors, vision systems, and hot melt systems.
  • Program, test, and debug PLCs, HMIs, and Kinetix servo motion systems.
  • Create detailed electrical schematics and bills of materials to meet project requirements.
  • Optimize control system design for cost and efficiency.
  • Interpret customer specifications and update designs or schematics as needed.
  • Collaborate with Mechanical Engineering teams to ensure seamless integration of electrical and mechanical systems.
  • Provide on-site and remote troubleshooting support to customers.
  • Travel up to 30% for installations, service, and customer support.
  • Mentor junior Controls Engineers and contribute to internal engineering standards.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience with Allen-Bradley PLCs (Studio 5000), HMI development (FactoryTalk View), and AutoCAD.
  • Strong background in machine automation, motion control, and electrical design.
  • Experience with Ignition or FT Optix preferred.
  • Knowledge of industrial wiring, panel design, and system timing.
  • Hands-on troubleshooting and electro-mechanical experience.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and teamwork skills.


Preferred:

  • Experience with AutoCAD Light or SolidWorks Electrical.
  • Prior experience in machine design or industrial automation environments.
