Supervises: Wolfe Den Drop-in program participants
Pay Scale: $19-22, DOE
Expected Schedule: 3-6 p.m. Monday-Thursday, September-June following Big Sky School District Schedule. POSITION SUMMARY
Toddler Drop-In Youth Programs Instructors provide a vital service to parents and toddlers in the Big Sky community. In this role, instructors supervise and engage with children ages 1-4 while their parents/guardians utilize the BASE facility. Instructors inspire toddlers’ imaginations, help them navigate social and emotional learning, and provide a safe and enriching space that gives parents peace of mind while they work out, join a meeting, or take a well-deserved break.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
● Provide a safe and enriching space for drop-in participants.
● Contact parents if child needs diaper change or is upset beyond ability to console/redirect.
● Set up, facilitate, and participate in Wolfe Den Drop-In activities in a safe, fun, and educational manner.
● Manage participant behavior effectively and appropriately and seek support from parents or the Youth Programs Manager when needed.
● Become a part of our BASE/BSCO community, developing relationships with participants, parents, and staff.
● Supervise a group of toddlers and youth ages 1-4, ensuring that all participants are accounted for and safe at all times.
● Help prepare, clean, and maintain program spaces and equipment daily.
● Communicate with all staff, including the Youth Programs Manager throughout the day.
PREFERRED EDUCATION | EXPERIENCE | CERTIFICATIONS
● Experience working with children, especially specific age group preferred, but not required.
● Prior experience working in a toddler drop-in program, after school program, camp, or in a childcare setting preferred.
● Infant and Child CPR, First Aid, and AED certification or willingness to obtain certifications required.
● Ability to pass background check required.
