Description\n

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cardiovascular ICU (CVICU) night shift position requiring a minimum of 2 years of CVICU experience and hands-on proficiency with advanced cardiac support devices.

  • Work setting is a hospital CVICU
  • \n
  • Patient population includes fresh open heart surgery cases (CABG, MVR, AVR, TAVR), ventilated patients, chest tube and lumbar drain patients, and chronic and acute renal failure patients
  • \n
  • Patient ratio is 1:1–2; ratios may vary when floating
  • \n
  • Charting is performed in Epic
  • \n
  • Night shift: 3x12-hour shifts, 19:00–07:30
  • \n
  • Every other weekend and applicable holidays required
  • \n
  • Floating required to all ICUs, PACU, ED (for ICU holding patients), and all IMC units
  • \n
Requirements\n
    \n
  • Active NJ or Compact RN license currently in hand
  • \n
  • Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
  • \n
  • Minimum 2 years of current CVICU experience required; candidates with SICU experience and initial CVICU training may be considered
  • \n
  • Experience with advanced cardiac support devices including Impella, IABP, and CRRT via Prismax — OR — experience with fresh heart cases required
  • \n
  • Proficiency with post-op open heart recovery, Swan-Ganz catheters, FloTrac, temporary pacers, arterial lines (A-lines), and chest tubes required
  • \n
  • SSN and DOB required for consideration
  • \n
  • Two current professional references required
  • \n
  • Copies of certifications required
  • \n

  • Provides critical care nursing to cardiovascular surgical and complex cardiac patients
  • \n
  • First-time travelers are welcome to apply
