Job Description
About Modern Luxury:
Modern Luxury by LT is a curated furniture and lighting retailer that blends modern design with timeless elegance, offering high-quality furnishings and personalized design support to clients building refined residential and commercial spaces.
Role summary
We’re hiring a results-driven Sales Associate (Furniture & Lighting) to deliver white-glove consultative sales in our showroom and with design clients. This is a client-facing role that sells high-value pieces, partners closely with our design team, and helps stabilize sales while the business refines operations and grows.
What you’ll own (day-to-day)
Greet showroom and retail customers; lead consultative conversations to understand needs, style, budget, and timeline.
Present product options (furniture, lighting, accessories), make tailored recommendations, and close sales to meet weekly/monthly targets.
Partner with designers and the design assistant to translate client briefs into product selections and coordinated proposals.
Manage the full sales process end-to-end: quotes, order entry, payment coordination, shipment/installation scheduling, and follow-up.
Maintain and update CRM/order systems (DDI INFORM ERP) with accurate client notes, quotes, and status updates.
Provide exceptional white-glove service: oversee delivery/installation details, troubleshoot client issues, and ensure a premium customer experience.
Support leadership by flagging operational gaps (documentation, handoffs) and suggesting process improvements to reduce single-person dependencies.
- Work collaboratively with operations for inventory, returns, and post-sale service; escalate sensitive staffing or client matters to owners/management.
- Occasionally participate in trade shows, client appointments off-site, or vendor meetings as required.
Must-have skills & experience
3+ years sales experience in furniture, lighting, interior design, or high-end retail with a demonstrable track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
Strong consultative selling skills with the ability to translate design needs into product recommendations.
Experience working with designers or in a design-forward retail environment is highly preferred.
Comfortable managing administrative sales tasks: quoting, order entry, CRM updates, and coordinating logistics.
Excellent communication, emotional intelligence, and customer-service orientation—able to deliver “white-glove” experiences.
Highly organized, detail oriented, and proactive about documenting handoffs and processes.
Proficiency with common retail/CRM platforms Canva/Programa/ChatGPT/Teams and MS Office / Google Suite.
Ability to work flexible hours including occasional weekends and off-site client appointments.
Reliable, team-oriented, and able to escalate sensitive staffing/operations concerns to leadership when appropriate.
