Job Description:
We are looking for a skilled Finisher to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail and a strong understanding of shop drawings, blueprints, and finishing materials. You will be responsible for ensuring all final touches on products meet quality standards, from initial sample creation to the final polished finish. The role involves verifying drying and curing requirements, mixing and applying primers and coats, and performing sanding, buffing, and polishing tasks.
Key Responsibilities:
· Comprehend and interpret shop drawings, blueprints, and specifications to apply correct finishing techniques.
· Prepare and mix finishing materials, ensuring the right amount of material is used as per estimates.
· Conduct buffing and polishing to achieve the desired finish and appearance.
· Verify and manage drying and curing times to ensure optimal results.
· Ensure all work meets quality control standards, including smoothness, uniformity, and consistency.
· Operate forklifts safely for transporting materials and products.
· Adhere to safety regulations, ensuring a safe working environment.
· Collaborate effectively with team members to achieve production goals.
· Adhere to scheduled break and lunch times, ensuring timely return to work to maintain productivity and operational efficiency.
Qualifications:
· Prior experience in finishing, sanding, buffing, or a related field.
· Ability to read and understand blueprints, shop drawings, and technical documents.
· Forklift certification or experience preferred, can teach on the job.
· Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality control.
· Good teamwork skills with the ability to work independently when required.
· Knowledge of safety procedures and practices in the finishing process.
Physical Requirements:
· Ability to lift and carry heavy materials (up to 50 pounds).
· Standing for long periods during work processes.
· Ability to work in a workshop environment with exposure to dust, noise, and other typical woodworking conditions.
