This facility is a well-established healthcare institution serving the East Texas region with comprehensive inpatient medical services. The hospital features a dedicated endoscopy unit with trained GI nursing staff and is currently transitioning from Paragon to EPIC EMR systems in 2026.

Board Certified - Gastroenterology

Job Details:
• GI specialist position with ERCP capabilities required• Inpatient only position - no outpatient work• Focus on in-house and ER consults with procedures generated from those encounters• Perform normal GI procedures including endoscopies, colonoscopies, and ERCP• Patient load of up to 10 patients per day for rounding plus procedures as needed• Handle cases including abdominal pain, GI bleed, SBO, food bolus, ulceration, gastritis, and diagnosis of carcinoma• Hospital staff will handle patient admissions• Anesthesia backup available, with preference for conscious sedation when possible• Coverage needed to fill gaps in schedule when permanent providers are unavailable• Must have Texas medical license• Board certification highly preferred (Board eligible acceptable)• Must have completed Gastroenterology residency• ACLS certification required• Clean malpractice history highly preferred• Emergency credentialing possible for providers with clean records• Credentialing timeframe is 30-60 days• Weekend and on-call coverage required
