Job Overview
Viracon is hiring a Production Operator to join our Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday Night Shift. This position supports and operates designated machinery to meet customer specifications while maintaining a safe, efficient, and quality-focused work environment.
Key Responsibilities
Read and interpret patterns and blueprints to ensure product accuracy.
Operate and maintain machines, performing daily and weekly TPMs.
Prepare and stage glass for assigned Special Fabrication processes.
Utilize precision measuring instruments such as calipers, protractors, and tape measures.
Perform duties safely and in compliance with all approved safety procedures and equipment.
Detect and adjust for equipment malfunctions or out-of-tolerance conditions to ensure product quality.
Report all machine issues to the Supervisor or Lead.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area throughout the shift.
Support other production areas as needed.
Maintain required tools and supplies to complete assigned work.
Participate in Viracon’s Continuous Improvement initiatives by supporting process enhancements and understanding team performance.
Perform duties in accordance with Business Process Documentation.
Required Skills and Qualifications
High school diploma or GED preferred, but not required.
Ability to read and follow work instructions in English.
Strong attention to detail with basic math skills related to measurements.
Mechanical aptitude and familiarity with power tools.
Dependable, with a proven ability to follow supervision and work effectively as part of a team.
Strong communication skills and a positive, safety-minded attitude.
Must be able to safely perform all essential job functions.
Regular full-time attendance required.
Promotes Viracon in a positive and professional manner and adheres to all company policies.
Pay & Schedule
Pay: $22.80/hour
Shift: Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday Nights
Work Environment
Large-scale manufacturing environment with exposure to heat, noise, dust, and chemicals.
Requires use of safety equipment such as gloves, goggles, and hearing protection.
Frequent interaction with moving equipment and production machinery.
Physical requirements: Heavy – includes standing for extended periods, lifting, bending, and handling materials regularly.
