Job Purpose:
- The Laundry Aide at Kalesta Healthcare Group is responsible for ensuring that all laundry operations are conducted efficiently and effectively to maintain a clean and hygienic environment. The role is crucial in supporting the overall patient care experience by providing fresh linens and garments for patients and staff.
Key Responsibilities:
- Sort, wash, dry, fold, and distribute linens and garments according to established procedures and schedules.
- Operate and maintain laundry equipment, ensuring all machines are in good working condition and reporting any malfunctions to the supervisor.
- Adhere to infection control protocols and safety guidelines to prevent contamination and ensure a safe working environment.
- Keep accurate records of laundry inventory, usage, and maintenance activities.
- Collaborate with housekeeping and maintenance staff to ensure timely and efficient service.
- Assist in maintaining a clean and organized laundry area, including regular cleaning of machines and workspaces.
- Respond promptly to special requests for laundry services from patients or staff.
- Participate in ongoing training and development programs to enhance skills and stay updated with industry standards.
Qualifications
Required Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
Required Experience:
- Previous experience in a healthcare or hospitality laundry setting is preferred.
- Experience with industrial laundry equipment is an advantage.
Required Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to operate laundry machinery safely and efficiently.
- Strong attention to detail to ensure cleanliness and quality standards are met.
- Good organizational skills to manage laundry workflow effectively.
- Physical stamina to handle repetitive tasks and lift heavy loads.
- Ability to follow instructions and adhere to safety protocols.
- Excellent communication skills to interact with team members and other staff.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays, as needed.
