Position Overview

The Fort is looking for a skilled and enthusiastic Full-Time or Part-Time Hatter to join our team. This is a great opportunity for someone with proven experience in hat shaping and a passion for the western lifestyle. As a Hatter, you'll provide expert shaping and styling for our customers, ensuring both quality and a standout shopping experience.

If you also have knowledge of tack and western gear, that's a major plus! Your insight will not only enhance your customer service skills but also allow you to contribute to a wider range of product recommendations and support.

Key Responsibilities

• Hat Shaping & Styling: Expertly shape and customize hats to customer specifications and store standards.

• Customer Engagement: Help customers find the right hat for their fit, function, and style-offering friendly, knowledgeable assistance.

• Product Knowledge: Stay informed about hat inventory, including different styles, materials, and brands-and bring tack knowledge into conversations when appropriate.

• Tack Familiarity: Use your understanding of tack and equine gear to assist customers with related questions and upselling opportunities.

• Visual Merchandising: Maintain clean, attractive displays in the hat and tack areas.

• Sales Support: Contribute to sales goals by promoting new arrivals and offering product recommendations that reflect The Fort's western lifestyle brand.

• Team Collaboration: Work closely with coworkers to create a fun, organized, and customer-focused environment.

Qualifications

• Hat Shaping Experience: Prior experience shaping and customizing hats is required.

• Tack Knowledge: Familiarity with tack and western gear is highly preferred and enhances your value on the floor.

• Passion for Western Lifestyle: Strong enthusiasm for western culture, fashion, and function.

• Customer Service Skills: Confident, courteous, and comfortable assisting a variety of customers.

• Team Player: Willing to collaborate and support fellow team members.

• Detail-Oriented: Pride in your craftsmanship and attention to the small things that make a difference.

• Flexible Availability: Ability to work varied hours, including weekends, as needed.
