Position Summary
Gator Transport Group is seeking an experienced and motivated Diesel Truck Mechanic to join our team in Jacksonville, FL. This is an immediate, full-time opportunity ideal for a skilled technician who thrives in a hands-on, fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience working on diesel engines, hydraulics, air brake systems, and electrical diagnostics. You will be working primarily on 2017 or newer Kenworth dump trucks and 2019 or newer Peterbilt 389s.

Key Responsibilities
-
Perform service, diagnostics, and repairs on gas and diesel engines
-
Conduct maintenance and repair of heavy and small trucks
-
Inspect, diagnose, and repair hydraulic systems, air brakes, and drivetrains
-
Maintain and repair vehicle A/C systems, electrical systems, and pneumatics
-
Review mechanical issues and schedule timely repairs
-
Accurately complete work orders, part orders, and service reports

Maintain cleanliness and functionality of service truck and tools

Ensure compliance with safety standards and company policies
-
Travel as needed to job sites for field repairs

Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisor
Requirements
-
Minimum of 5 years of proven diesel mechanic experience
-
Own full set of tools (excluding specialty equipment)

Valid driver's license with clean driving record

Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions

Willingness to travel occasionally out of town

CDL License (preferred)

Certifications a plus:

OSHA

Forklift

ASE

Physical Demands / Work Environment

Regular use of hands, hearing, and communication

Frequent reaching, standing, climbing, stooping, kneeling, and crawling

Frequently lift up to 25 lbs; occasionally up to 50 lbs

Work outdoors in hot, humid, cold, or wet conditions throughout the shift
