JOB DESCRIPTION
Assists the Activity Director in coordinating and maintaining transportation policies and guidelines as well as assisting in a wide variety of multi-level recreational and educational activities for the residents of the facility.
KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Transport residents to and from physician appointments, scheduled activities and/or other destinations according to assigned schedule. Must assist disabled passengers to transfer in and out of vehicles, load and unload wheelchairs and escort residents to and from point of destination
- Assists residents in scheduling medical appointments in accordance with transportation policies
- Perform a thorough pre-trip inspection on the appropriate vehicle prior to use each day
- Cleaning and sanitation of the company vehicles, as well as responsible for refueling vehicles as necessary
- Manage routine maintenance, repairs and CHP inspection checks as needed
- Prepare, maintain and monitor all relevant paperwork, including Trip Logs, Appointment Book sheets, Billing forms, Private Driver list and Appointment Notification sheets
- Assists in planning, coordinating, and performing resident activities
- Main a safe working environment through prevention of accidents, the preservation of equipment and the achievement of safe working practices
- Maintains a positive and professional demeanor toward residents, visitors, families, and co-workers
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS
- Must hold a class B commercial California driver license, with Passenger Endorsement
- Must maintain a current First Aid certificate
- Fluent in speaking, reading and writing English
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Ability to respond effectively in an emergency or crisis
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
This position requires the ability to bend, squat, stoop, kneel, push, pull, sit and stand on feet for extended periods of time, as well as the ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
