Job Description
We are seeking an energetic and enthusiastic individual to be a part of the Career Services team. This is a full time, professional position reporting directly to the Director of Career Services. This position may require some evening and Saturday hours.
The Career Services Advisor coordinates and assists in job search and placement for graduates and students, maintains confidential and detailed client and referral records, delivers and/or coordinates presentations, workshops, and seminars as appropriate to the position, evaluates and resolves student inquiries, issues, and problems, and ensures appropriate action is taken to the satisfaction of the student, company, and/or regulatory agencies in compliance with policies, procedures and legal requirements.
Responsibilities include:
- Developing and maintaining active and positive relationships with employers to ensure sufficient employment opportunities for graduates.
- Working collaboratively with all staff, faculty, and corporate personnel to ensure overall understanding of graduate abilities and campus goals.
- Cultivating and maintaining strong relationships with students, while providing career assistance through workshops, personal advisement in career exploration, resume writing and job search skills.
- Organizing and maintaining detailed employment information on graduates and tracking placement rates for each program.
Requirements:
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Knowledge of, or experience with Commercial Truck Driving - a plus
- Outstanding communication, organizational and follow-up skills.
- 1 to 3 years relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience
