Description\n

American Traveler is hiring a Nuclear Medicine Technologist with 2+ years experience and ARRT (N) or NMTCB certification for a 12-week acute care assignment.

  • Acute care hospital setting within the Nuclear Medicine department
  • \n
  • Department currently has 1 scanner with a second in process of installation
  • \n
  • Common studies include cardiac, HIDA, bone scan, gastric emptying, GI bleed, lung, brain death, and DAT scans
  • \n
  • Average of 12 scans per day, including approximately 2 cardiac studies
  • \n
  • Uses Siemens Symbia T6 equipment
  • \n
  • EMR/PACS systems include Meditech, Fuji Synapse PACS, and NMIS
  • \n
  • Radiologist in-house until 5pm with remote read coverage until midnight
  • \n
  • Rotating shifts, 8 or 10 hours, totaling 40 hours per week
  • \n
  • Weekend and holiday coverage required
  • \n
  • On-call requirement
  • \n
  • Required to float between Bryan and College Station campuses (16 minutes apart) as needed
  • \n
  • First to float based on unit needs
  • \n
Requirements\n
    \n
  • Minimum 2 years experience as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist
  • \n
  • BLS certification required
  • \n
  • ARRT (N) or NMTCB (CNMT) certification required
  • \n
  • NMTCB-NCT (Certified Nuclear Cardiology Technologist) verification required
  • \n
  • Active state or compact (NLC) license required for the state of submission; pending licenses not accepted
  • \n
  • License required if applicable
  • \n
  • Must be proficient in starting IVs
  • \n
  • Copy of driver's license required for legal name verification
  • \n
Additional Information\n
    \n
  • Perform a variety of nuclear medicine imaging studies including cardiac, HIDA, bone scan, gastric emptying, GI bleed, lung, brain death, and DAT scans
  • \n
  • Black scrubs are provided
  • \n
  • Department-specific orientation provided
  • \n
  • 12 hours of general orientation included
  • \n
  • Candidates who have been directly employed (full time, part time, or PRN) by any CommonSpirit-affiliated facility, including CHI and/or Dignity, within the past year will not be considered; PRN employment through outside staffing firms is acceptable

  • Call-outs are strongly discouraged and may result in termination from the assignment
