Journeyman Painter - Residential

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Residential Painter to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in residential painting, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. This role requires preparing surfaces, applying paint and other coatings, and ensuring high-quality finishes for residential properties, contributing to the overall satisfaction of our clients and the success of the company.

Our location is in Gun Barrel City, TX, and the jobs are within 50 miles of our location.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare surfaces for painting, including cleaning, sanding, and patching holes or cracks in walls, ceilings, and woodwork.
• Remove old paint or wallpaper using appropriate techniques and equipment, such as scrapers, sanders, and chemical strippers.
• Mix and match paint colors according to client specifications, ensuring accurate color matching and consistency.
• Apply paint, stain, and other coatings to various surfaces, using brushes, rollers, or spray equipment.
• Apply protective coverings, such as tape and drop cloths, to safeguard adjacent surfaces and maintain clean work areas.
• Select and maintain painting tools and equipment, keeping them in good working order and cleanliness.
• Erect scaffolding or set up ladders as needed to access high or difficult-to-reach areas safely.
• Collaborate with clients to understand their preferences, providing recommendations on materials, finishes, and application techniques.
• Maintain accurate records of work completed, materials used, and client preferences for future reference.
• Continuously develop knowledge of industry trends, techniques, and best practices in residential painting to enhance skills and contribute to the company's growth and success.

Qualifications:

• Must have your own hand tools and personal transportation. 
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in residential painting, with a strong understanding of surface preparation, coating application, and color matching.
• Familiarity with a variety of paint products, tools, and application techniques.
• Ability to interpret client requirements and create aesthetically pleasing and high-quality finishes.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on client satisfaction and professionalism.
• Physical ability to perform manual tasks, including standing, bending, climbing, and lifting heavy objects.
