This position is located in a fast-paced emergency holding unit within the Emergency Department.

\n\nAssignment Duration\n

This is a 13-week contract position.

\n\nSchedule\n

This role requires a Night shift with a schedule of 3x12 hours (18:45 - 07:15) and every other weekend coverage.

\n\nJob Description\n

The CNRO unit primarily supports the ED Holding unit where patients are located within the Emergency Department and are waiting for inpatient beds. The Registered Nurse will be responsible for providing high-quality nursing care to medical/surgical adult patients and may be required to float between various areas, including ED and MedSurg units.

\n\nResponsibilities\n

\n
• Provide comprehensive nursing care for adult patients, monitoring their conditions and responding to emergencies.
\n
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, ensuring adherence to protocols.
\n
• Utilize telemetry monitoring, interpreting dysrhythmias, and managing cardiovascular patients.
\n
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including Respiratory Services, Social Services, and Pharmacy.
\n
• Perform procedures such as IV therapy, blood product administration, and central line management.
\n

\n\nRequired Experience / Certifications / Licensure\n

\n
• Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Registered Nurse in MS/Tele and PCU preferred.
\n
• BLS certification required; ACLS, NIHSS are preferred.
\n
• Experience with high-acuity patients and telemetry monitoring.
\n
• Proficient in IV therapy, phlebotomy, and administering blood products.
\n
