Gastroenterology Physician - Now Hiring

Locum Gastroenterology Physician Opportunity in Springfield, MA

We are seeking a dedicated Gastroenterology Physician to join our team at a well-respected medical center in Springfield, Massachusetts. This practice setting includes a mix of inpatient duties with a call structure of approximately 1:4. The role encompasses both floor, ED, ICU, and emergent consults, with opportunities for endoscopies on an as-needed basis. Our aim is to provide top-notch care in a supportive environment as we transition through a period of coverage due to a retirement.

Job Responsibilities:

• Conduct inpatient consultations and procedures including endoscopies as required.
• Manage the medical needs of an average of 4-12 hospital-based patients per day.
• Provide timely and effective care with use of the EPIC documentation system.
• Participate in the call schedule effectively, carrying a beeper overnight.
• Perform a range of required procedures including colonscopies, liver biopsies, and manometry.
• Collaborate with a team of 4 physicians to ensure high-quality patient care.

Qualifications:

• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Gastroenterology.
• Active Massachusetts Medical License.
• BLS certification is required.
• No outpatient responsibilities expected.
• ERCP certification is not mandatory but preferred.

License and Certification Requirements:

• Board Certified or Board Eligible - preferred.
• Active License to practice in Massachusetts.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
