American Specialty Health Incorporated (ASH) is seeking a Sr. Manager, Software Engineering-EDI to join our Information Technology department.

The primary function of this position is to manage the vision, implementation, and maintenance of EDI and data integration focused applications, gateways, and related initiatives. The role is responsible for ensuring the success of all aspects of the initiatives the individual is charged with overseeing. The Sr. Manager interacts with software engineers and all levels of management to determine project requirements for enhancements and new development, ensuring projects are completed on time and with high quality. Assists executive team in future IT strategies and initiatives as appropriate.

Salary Range
American Specialty Health complies with state and federal wage and hour laws and compensation depends upon candidate's qualifications, education, skill set, years of experience, and internal equity. $112,500 to $145,000 Full-Time Annual Salary Range.



Remote Worker Guidelines

  • Remote Worker Guidelines: This position will be trained remotely and must be able to work from home (WFH) in a designated work area with company-provided technology equipment. This WFH position requires you have a stable connection to your Internet Service Provider with the ability to participate by video in online meetings over a reliable and consistent network. The internet connection must have a consistent 50 down/10 up Mbps minimum internet speed. 100 down/20 up is recommended to support higher quality video meetings.


Responsibilities

  • Research, design, develop, and maintain customized modules for existing and new data integration applications.
    • To provide effective guidance and line management to the team, to include full responsibility for the recruitment and retention of staff.
    • Interface with staff to determine the needs and provides input into strategic planning of new software.
    • Assist and guide scrum team(s) in translating business requirements to actionable software deliverables.
    • Architecting and modeling new components.
    • Develop reporting specifications for internal and external use.
    • Report to manager any problems and status of progress on all projects.
    • Maintains integrity in software development by reinforcing consistent and thorough use of SDLC.
    • Create secure data transfer between internal and external systems.
  • Supervise development staff and collaborate with departmental representatives to coordinate project priorities and progress.
    • Evaluate performance, and prepare and deliver performance reviews.
    • Assist in end user training, testing, and debugging of extranet applications.
    • Oversee workflow and project details to ensure project completion meets deadlines.
  • Manage development of program documentation, project timelines, and on-line help/training functionality.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Complies with all policies and standards.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience. If equivalent experience, high school diploma required.
  • 5 years of software engineering experience, including hands-on experience in developing large-scale cloud-based applications using the latest technologies required.
  • Experience re-designing and refactoring legacy systems required.
  • Experience with software development in Microsoft preferred.
  • Working knowledge of ASC X12 5010 (270/271, 276/277, 277CA, 278, 834, 835, 837P) or FHIR standards in a healthcare environment preferred.
  • Experience using KPIs and or Objectives and Key Results to advance a team.
  • Experience establishing tools and processes for capacity planning and workload scoping with various project management methodologies (agile, waterfall, etc.).
  • Proven management skills of enterprise level applications.
  • Hires new talent, and develops and executes onboarding plans. Provides direction to evaluate and improve onboarding experience across functional team and department.
  • Strong knowledge of latest technologies including: .NET, C#, VB, MS-SQL, and React.
  • Strong knowledge of database management, data pipeline development/ETL, and data streaming.
  • Self-directed individual with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent time management skills demonstrated by the ability to execute on multiple projects and team management tasks while working on a tight deadline.
  • Motivated for continuous improvement and able to motivate others.
