Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Pathology Assistant to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting pathologists by assisting in the examination and processing of specimens. This position requires a strong background in clinical and research laboratory settings, along with a solid understanding of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology. The Pathology Assistant will contribute to accurate diagnoses and patient care through meticulous specimen handling and laboratory techniques.
Duties
- Assist pathologists in the preparation and examination of tissue specimens.
- Perform specimen collection and processing, ensuring adherence to aseptic techniques.
- Conduct laboratory procedures including histology, grossing, and staining of samples.
- Maintain accurate records of specimens and laboratory results.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient care.
- Utilize knowledge of anatomy and pathology to assist in diagnostic processes.
- Monitor vital signs as necessary during specimen collection or patient interactions.
- Uphold safety protocols and maintain cleanliness within the laboratory environment.
Shift
- Monday thru Friday 7:30a-4p
- 40 hours a week
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited Pathologist Assistant program
- NYS licensure as a Pathologist Assistant
- Experience in: Surgical Pathology, Histology, Cytology, General, Autopsy Pathology.
- MUST LIVE 75 MILES FROM THE FACILITY
