Job Description: The Shipping Clerk is responsible for preparing, packaging, and shipping manufactured products safely and accurately. This position ensures all outgoing freight is correctly identified, labeled, and shipped through FedEx, UPS, and freight carriers. The role requires attention to detail, physical strength, and experience operating warehouse equipment. The Shipping Clerk will also be cross-trained in Receiving and provide coverage for the Receiving Clerk as needed. Responsibilities:Pick, stage, and prepare outgoing orders from multiple warehouse locations.Inspect and clean items for damage or defects prior to shipment.Package items using bubble wrap, foam, shrink wrap, and boxes per company standards.Build and assemble boxes, lids, and crates using hand tools and banding equipment.Operate stand-up forklift, electric pallet jack, and dolly to move materials.Take items off pallets, place on shipping pallets, and secure loads with wrap and tape.Label, tag, and document shipments with packing lists and shipping labels.Process shipments through FedEx, UPS, and freight software systems.Communicate with logistics providers to obtain quotes and schedule pickups.Maintain accurate shipping documentation and inventory of shipping supplies.Ensure shipping area remains organized, clean, and compliant with safety standards.Cross-train and assist in Receiving as backup when needed. Qualifications and Requirements:High School Diploma or GED required.1–2 years of shipping or warehouse experience preferred.Ability to lift up to 100 lbs safely and repeatedly.Experience using FedEx Ship Manager, UPS WorldShip, or similar systems.Proficient with shipping documentation, bills of lading, and packing lists.Ability to operate material handling equipment (forklift, pallet jack, dolly).Strong attention to detail and accuracy.Dependable, safety-minded, and able to work in a fast-paced environment.Team-oriented with strong communication skills. Physical RequirementsStand, walk, bend, and lift throughout the shift.Lift, carry, and move heavy materials (up to 100 lbs).Operate warehouse equipment safely and efficiently.
