The Department of Physics and Astronomy in the Eberly College of Arts and Sciences at West Virginia University is currently accepting applications for a Part-Time, Temporary Web Designer.
About the Opportunity
This position will provide support for ongoing and constant expansion of the SUMMIT-P website through uploading and editing website content. This work will be closely supervised by co-PIs Bourdeau and Piercey, who will make all decisions about the specific content to be included on the website. This team also will coordinate with professional society partners to create appropriate links to connect the SUMMIT-P site to websites viewed by a wider interdisciplinary audience. Additional social media will be created as deemed appropriate.
What You'll Do
- Write code for development and expansion of SUMMIT-P website
- Participate in discussions with co-PIs about website design and layout
- Update website content as instructed
- Create/disseminate additional social media content as instructed
Pay Grade: 13
Work Hours: 8 Hours per Week
Length of Assignment: 8.5 Months
- Business, secretarial or technical training related to the position to which assigned, obtained through a formal training program of over eighteen (18) months.
A minimum of one (1) year of work experience directly related to the area of assignment.
- Any equivalent combination of related education and/or experience will be considered.
- All qualifications must be met by the time of employment.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Demonstrated ability to code for website design
- Experience coding/designing various online platforms
- Demonstrated ability to analyze data
- Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines
- Ability to effectively use Excel and Word
