We are a fast-growing manufacturing business in Northbrook, IL. manufacture a variety of metal fasteners for use in the bedding, upholstered furniture, construction, and aquaculture markets. We are looking for a self-starting individual with strong analytical, technology, communication and organizational skills. Accounting knowledge is a required and a college degree in accounting or business administration would be preferred. ONSITE POSITION ONLY.

On-the-job training is a good way to discover how to do the job better, so you should have willingness to learn and improve. Being a team player is essential since all tasks will require close collaboration with co-workers. The goal is to help fortify the financial function, controls and reporting in a small, rapidly growing business.

Typical Duties

• Support most aspects of accounting management (billing, reporting etc.)

• Establishing and maintaining internal controls

• Managing all aspects of the general ledger

• Providing monthly, quarterly, and year-end analyses

• Helping in development of reports for management; coordinating or assisting with

the budget process

• Analyzing and reporting cost variances

• Supervising accounts receivable, accounts payable and general accounting

activities

• Assisting in the formulation of internal controls and policies.

• Review the company’s accounting information to identify and resolve

inaccuracies or imbalances.

• Utilize accounting IT system to facilitate processes and maintain records.

 

Skills

• Experience as assistant controller or other similar position

• Excellent knowledge of accounting and financial processes (budgeting, financial

closure, reporting etc.)

• Solid knowledge of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles)

• Understanding of data analysis and forecasting

• Working knowledge of MS Office (especially excel) and accounting software (e.g.

QuickBooks Enterprise Solutions Manufacturing) is essential• Well-organized with ability to prioritize

• Very good communication and interpersonal skills

• Attention to detail and problem-solving ability

• BSc/BA in accounting, finance or relevant field is preferred
