Job Description:
This position requires an RN to provide care in a 19-bed Med Surg unit, handling patients with various diagnoses including CHF, diabetic complications, pneumonia, and COVID-19. Post-operative cases include TURPs, hip and knee replacements, cholecystectomy, and appendectomy. The role involves working night shifts, with weekend requirements every other week and negotiating holiday requirements.
Responsibilities:
- Provide nursing care for medical-surgical patients, including pediatric patients as needed.
- Assist in interdisciplinary patient care planning.
- Monitor patients and adjust care/treatment plans as necessary.
- Work within a team and with charge nurses or house supervisors to ensure patient safety and effective care.
Requirements:
- Active RN license (or eligible for OR 90-Day Emergency License if not licensed in OR).
- Certifications required: BLS, ACLS, PALS.
- Experience with general medical-surgical care and the ability to occasionally titrate Heparin and Bumex drips.
- Familiarity with CPAP, BiPAP, and high-flow oxygen equipment.
