Description\n

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Outpatient Chemotherapy/Infusion unit position in Summit, NJ, requiring infusion nursing experience and an active NJ RN license.

Details\n

\n
• Outpatient chemotherapy and infusion unit setting
\n
• Monday–Friday schedule, 9am–5pm, 12-hour shifts, 36 hours per week
\n
• Patient population includes those receiving chemotherapy, antibiotics, IVIG, blood transfusions, GI and rheumatoid medications, iron products, and other infusion therapies
\n
• Proficiency required with PICC lines, midlines, and portacaths
\n
• Must be able to draw labs peripherally and from PICCs and portacaths
\n
• Must be able to administer subcutaneous and IM injections
\n
• On-call required
\n
• Floating to a nearby sister hospital may be required
\n
• EMR: Epic (charting system used at this facility)
\n

Requirements\n

\n
• Active NJ RN license or compact license with NJ as primary state required
\n
• Current BLS certification required
\n
• Minimum 1 year of infusion RN experience required
\n
• Ability to start IVs required
\n
• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing; Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred
\n
• Experience with PICC lines, midlines, and portacaths required
\n

Additional Information\n

• Perform comprehensive patient assessments across the adult-to-geriatric population
\n
• Administer infusion therapies including chemotherapy, antibiotics, IVIG, blood transfusions, and specialty medications
\n
• Maintain accurate nursing documentation and patient education records in Epic
\n
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible — local candidates are not accepted
\n
• Travelers may remain on assignment for up to one calendar year from their initial start date; a 30–60 day break is required before returning to a new assignment at this facility
\n
• Two professional references are required for consideration
